Join us in celebrating the closing days of The Celebration of the Arts’ 39th Emeryville Art Exhibition, a vibrant showcase of over 220 works by talented artists who reside or work in Emeryville. This diverse collection features a multitude of mediums, styles, perspectives and powerful expressions, capturing the heart and soul of our community. Meet Sarah Kobrinsky, Poet Laureate of Emeryville (2013-2015), and immerse yourself in an afternoon of artistry and inspiration. On Sunday, October 26, from 2 - 4pm, experience an unforgettable closing event—an evening of soul-stirring Poetry and Jazz. Enjoy the mesmerizing melodies of Ryan Pate and Dillon Vado, complemented by captivating poetry from participants of the Ekphrastic Workshop led by Sarah Kobrinsky. Ekphrastic poetry involves interpreting, inhabiting, and engaging deeply with visual art—speaking to and about the artworks that have been part of the exhibition. Poets who took part in Sarah’s workshop on generative creative writing will share their own ekphrastic pieces inspired by the stunning collection of artworks.

The Experience, Emeryville: Jered’s Pottery Fun
The Experience: Clay with Your Food! Here's some fun for all you foodies out there! Rotten City Cultural District (RCCD) presents a live chef competition, Clay With Your Food at Jered's Pottery in Emeryville on Sunday, October 12 from 3-6pm. Think Chef's Table meets The Great Pottery Throw Down meets Nailed It. Three brave Bay Area chefs will be put through three challenges, including preparing food in the potter's kiln at 1000 degrees Fahrenheit, plating food on sculpture and throwing on the potter's wheel. Tickets to the event include wood-fired pizza, apps and salads by Anaviv Catering (yum!), as well as wine, beer and crafted cocktails. There will be a DJ, a "Jered's Mugshot" photobooth,
