Salsa & Sangria! Picnic on the Plaza!
Picnic on the Plaza 2026 returns on Sunday, September 20th from 12 – 4pm at Antioch Court. Get ready for salsa dancing, tasty Latin food, drinks, and a fun afternoon.
Be game for dancing! Salsa & Sangria turns Antioch Court into an outdoor salsa dance floor for an afternoon of music, movement and community fun. The Oakland Salsa Club will lead Absolute Beginner’s Salsa Lessons, with music by Dímelo DJ and hosting by Candi Martinez.
The afternoon kicks off with an open-floor DJ set from noon–1 p.m., followed by beginner salsa lessons from 1–2 p.m. The fun continues with a Salsa Social from 2–4 p.m. Bring your dance shoes—Antioch Court will have a dance floor installed for the event!
Between dancing, participants can visit the Sangria Bar, grab food and beverages from Montclair Village’s 20+ restaurants and eateries or the Village Farmers’ Market, then enjoy their meals at community tables in the plaza. The event is free and open to all ages.
Get there early and peruse the Farmer’s Market where you will find the most seasonally fresh, whole, nutrient-rich foods that are available at any given time in California. It is open on Sundays from 9am-1pm, rain or shine at La Salle Ave at Moraga Ave. EBT Customers: You can now receive a dollar for dollar match up to $15 to spend on fruits and vegetables at Montclair Village Farmers’ Market. Also accepted are WIC, Veggie Rx, and Beet Bucks.
