The Experience, Richmond: Sailing Goat Restaurant Day Trip

The Experience:

Want to get away from it all?

It’s always fun to watch first timers as they descend the hill to Point San Pablo Harbor past the goats to the Sailing Goat Restaurant on the dock. Surprise, bewilderment, glee, gasping, “I had no idea this was here!”

Huge outdoor sculptures greet you as you park your car and then a bit of serenity envelopes you as you sit down for lunch.

Dive into the Classic Fish & Chips first. Made with the local fish of the day, served with French fries and  tartar sauce (they have a dedicated fryer). The breading is light and the fish  moist. And the fries of course, top it off.

If you are more in the breakfast mode, the Summer Frittata is a fantastic Brunch treat with summer squash, corn, potatoes and Manchego cheese, served with a mixed green salad. Many more options with lots of gluten-free choices.

It’s peaceful looking out over the water and walking down through the marina checking out the vibrantly painted houseboats. By the time you leave, you feel like you have been in a different world, far away from your usual day

Weekend hours: Fri, 11:30am – 8:30pm; Sat/Sun, 11am – 8pm — Brunch Sat/Sun, 11am-4pm (Brunch & Full Menus) and Full Menu 4-8:30pm.

What to expect:

On the water at Pt San Pablo Harbor, a bayside escape to nourish the body and feed the soul awaits. Down at the harbor, you’ll relax with wonderful vistas and the gentle lapping of water. Items from the sea and land and gardens guide the menu. Pizza is baked outside in a wood-fired pizza oven. And, they are serving up regional small batch craft beer and wines.

There are pathways along the water and houseboats, hiking paths up the hill with fantastic views. So many options for you, your family and friends when you visit the Sailing Goat!
