If you’re a seasoned sailor or curious about sailing the Bay, you can explore the world of sailing  as Encinal Yacht Club once again hosts Summer Sailstice on Sat., June 24, 2017, from 11am- 5pm at 1251 Pacific Marina in Alameda. It is definitely a family event with lots of fun activities around their famous swimming pool, as well as in the Estuary. Summer Sailstice is a worldwide celebration of sailing. Here’s what’s happening June 24.

At the Docks: Classic boats on display – Tall Ship, Master Mariners; a Small Boat Regattas; Junior Sailing and public boat rides, plus a one-class cruise-in.  The Encinal Docks will be very busy with boaters, racers and all things sail and boating this day.

At the Pool: Life Jacket Races, Boat Building Competition, Gutter Races and live music throughout the day…food and drink will abound.

On the Lawn: Exhibits: Sailing gear, beachwear, Summer Sailstice 2017 tees, hats & burgees

On-the-water Demonstrations: US Coast Guard and Alameda Fire Department, plus a couple of new and interesting exhibitions.

There will be speakers and boating related seminars inside the yacht club.

The Summer Sailstice 2017 prize pool is looking pretty exciting, as they welcome aboard new and long-term supporters who collectively have donated hundreds of prizes for Summer Sailstice participants.
