Meet the founding winemaker of Carica Wines tonight! Thursday, June 1 from 5:30 – 7:30pm. Just drop in, no reservations required.

Make an evening of it: Chef Frank’s pizza oven will be fired up! Share your views, questions, and ideas—Experience wine in a fun and relaxing atmosphere. Riggers Loft offers breathtaking views of the San Francisco skyline, Oakland and East Bay Hills, the Bay Bridge, Treasure Island and Tiburon.

About the Winemaker

Carica Wines’ original winemaker and founding owner is Charlie Dollbaum. As a ‘hands on’ winemaker, Charlie monitors the grapes all summer, checking ripeness and sugar content and then he performs every step of the winemaking process, from crush through fermentation.

Drawing on his science background and over a decade of private winemaking, Charlie launched Carica Wines in 2005 and in 2009 moved from Sonoma County to the East Bay, now making wine at Riggers Loft Wine Co. with a scenic tasting room on San Francisco Bay.

Riggers Loft is situated right next to the water on San Francisco Bay in an industrial chic building with absolutely amazing views. What to expect:

Down at Pt San Pablo Harbor, you’ll relax with wonderful vistas and the gentle lapping of water. Items from the sea and land and gardens will guide the menu. Some cooking will be outside. Stews will simmer in large pots on the stove. . And, they’ll be serving up regional small batch craft beer and wines.

There are pathways along the water and houseboats, hiking paths up the hill with fantastic views. So many options for you, your family and friends when you visit the Sailing Goat! Weekend hours: Fri – Mon, 11:30am – 8:30pm.

The Experience:

Get ready for summer!

Get ready to conquer the summer heat by raising a glass, with a twist of wit! East Brother Beer Co presents the Helles Lager, a liquid sunshine in a can, dropping this Friday. It’s the ultimate weapon to soak up the sun while keeping your cool. Sip on this crisp and refreshing brew and let the good times flow. Golden moments and malty adventures await you starting Friday, May 19! Their newly released Blonde Ale is still waiting for you also. Pair it with some tasty bites.

Great food happening on Saturday and Sunday (5/20-21) from 11am-9pm. Sitha’s Khmerkitchen is serving up authentic Khmer food. Check it out! They also have a Cambodian Fundraising event for Cambodian School in Cambodia on Saturday 12-4pm

The following weekend (5/27-28) Kim’s Louisiana Kitchen pop-up, run by local Chef Phillip Mitchell, will serve up some great southern food. His May 11th menu offered four turkey sliders for $15, with chips $18, or an all beef hot dog for $3, with chips $5. Stay tuned for his next menu.

Celebrate your mom, wife or grandmom at Riggers Loft on Sunday, May 14th from 1-7pm. They’ll receive a rose and a scrumptious Grand Marnier Chocolate Truffle from Chef Frank! Chef Frank Miller makes these delicious yummies the old-fashioned way. “It caresses your tongue with velvety dark chocolate,” continues Barbara.

And if you haven’t tasted his Strawberry Shortcake, you haven’t fully lived! It goes perfectly with a glass of bubbly! And lucky Moms, you get $2 off your glass of bubbly! Besides the shortcake, Chef Frank will be serving his regular menu of wood fire pizzas, smoked meats, fresh salads, seafood, burgers, and so much more.
