The Experience, Richmond: East Brother Beer Co. This Weekend

The Experience:

Taproom: your summertime getaway!

You are invited to join your friends down at the East Brother taproom to cool off this week with a cold pint of Blonde Ale, a light-bodied, easy-drinking beer made in the classic style. If you haven’t tried it, this weekend is the time. It took the production team six months to craft the perfect recipe. The result is a crisp and clean ale with subtle malt sweetness and a dry finish, making it incredibly drinkable and perfect for any occasion.

Blonde Ale is brewed with a combination of pilsner and wheat malts, which give it its light color and body, and is hopped with East Kent Goldings and Loral for a low to medium hop bitterness. It’s a sessionable (lower in alcohol) beer that pairs well with sunshine and good company.

Here’s the food truck lineup:

  • Thursday, July 13 –  Golden Gate Bistro
  • Friday, July 14 – Snapper’s Sea-Food
  • Saturday, July 15 –  Golden Gate Bistro
  • Sunday, July 16 –  Golden Gate Bistro

East Brother Beer Co Hours:

  • Wednesday – Friday: 3-8pm
  • Saturday: 11am-9pm
  • Sunday: 11am-9pm

Just consider East Brother Beer’s taproom your ‘cooling place’ or as some of us call it ‘our chillin’ place’.

The Experience, Richmond: Richmond Art Center New Exhibit

The Experience:

Summer exhibitions are open!

Summer exhibitions bring ‘Nahui Ollin’ to the main gallery with work by Andrés Cisneros-Galindo. Opening reception is Saturday, July 15, 12-2pm.

This exhibition is the first major survey of the 50 year artistic trajectory of Richmond-based artist Andrés Cisneros-Galindo. Andrés Cisneros-Galindo is a multi-disciplinary artist and educator whose work is marked by a strong sense of history, a commitment to community organizing, and experimentation. Germinating in the 1960s from the leftist politics of his native Tijuana, Mexico. Cisneros-Galindo’s work took root in the Bay Area’s Chicano movement of the 1970s and through the decades has pursued an exploration of the quintessential American experience.

You’ll experience Cisneros-Galindo’s wide range of work, which include collagraphs, mixed media collages, sculptures, political serigraph posters, and large abstract expressionist paintings. Together, this collection of works will offer an intimate perspective into Cisneros-Galindo’s experiences as a Mexican immigrant, activist, educator and artist grappling with the social and political currents of American life.

His exhibition  is accompanied by ‘Printmaking at NIAD’, a group show of artists who have worked with Cisneros-Galindo.

Anne Wolf invites reflection on the word “enough” through artistic collaborations in ‘ENOUGH Considered’.

Lastly, a solo exhibition by David Burke, ‘Solastalgia’, explores the psychological impact of environmental destruction.

  • Exhibition Dates: Ongoing – August 19, 2023
  • Reception: Saturday, July 15, 12pm-2pm
  • Gallery Hours: Wed-Sat 10am-4pm
