The Experience, Emeryville: Wondrous Brewing Chill

The Experience:

Fresh IPA in Emeryville!

What’s on tap at Wondrous Brewing Company? A fresh batch of their tried and true Single Cuff West Coast IPA.

It’s a West Coast IPA 6.6% abv. Hopped with Citra + Mosaic. Fans are happy to have this beer back on tap and in cans. This is the second in command in their ‘Cuff’ series, a sequence of beers they make that utilize the king and queen of PNW hops, Citra + Mosaic! Bringing in punchy hop flavor and bitterness and that tropical fruit, citrus delight that you all know and love!

If IPAs aren’t your thing, try their High Tider or Dot in the Sky which are both West Coast Pilsners. Grab your friends and get down to Wondrous. It’s a gem of a brewery with a chill vibe. Hang in their fun outside patio where you’ll find community and dogs are welcome. You can order from Los Moles, Good to Eat Dumplings, KYU2 or Rotten City Pizza – all close by.

The Experience, Emeryville: Wondrous Brewing New Release

The Experience:

Getting HAZY in Emeryville!

The sun is out. The rain has stopped. It’s time to come together again on the patio at Wondrous! Try their first batch of true Hazy IPA! They brought Flightwave back into the world of Haze – Flightwave – Hazy IPA 7.0% abv.

Hopped with Citra, El Dorado Cryo, Motueka & Mosaic. Officially the haze has came to Wondrous! They strived to make the softest, fluffiest beer they could with a restrained bitterness and maximized as much hop flavor as possible. Brewed with floor malted Pilsner, then fermented with a true expressive yeast strain, they went for a full lean into the mysterious world of thiols (derived from hops, yielding a fruity flavor). BIG juicy stone fruit, citrus and tropical aromatics, with a hefty yet balanced mouthfeel and some lingering hop resin! Cans were officially released on Valentine’s Day in Emeryville!

A full board of 16 different beers on tap –  8 Lagers, 8 Ales + 7 Different available Can options To-Go await you! Hungry? Explore the corner of 65th & Hollis! They are surrounded by a handful of amazing eateries! Good to Eat Dumplings, Los Moles, Rotten City Pizza (will deliver!), Secrets of Tiger, KYU2 Sushi, to name a few.

The Experience, Emeryville: Trader Vic’s Tiki Mugs

The Experience:

Happy 90th Birthday, Trader Vic’s!

If you have ever been to Trader Vic’s, it is definitely a different world with all the carved statues of the ancestors (tiki) and elaborate carved mugs lining up the bar. And the Chinese Wood-fired Ovens  add an ancient cooking method dating back to the Han Dynasty, with dishes like yum Indonesian Rack of Lamb.

How did this all start? Vic ‘The Trader’ Bergeron opened up Hinky Dinks on San Pablo in 1934. The Trader’s global travels led him to transform the saloon into an island-inspired bar. After inventing and popularizing the rum-based Mai Tai, Trader Vic’s opened on the waterfront in the Emeryville Marina and engaged the world in global delights adding Chinese dishes to the their contemporary Continental Cuisine. Maybe the first fusion menu! Today there’s an ever-evolving menu featuring dishes from the Mediterranean, the Middle East, Asia and Japan.

So, here’s to 90 years of iconic Tiki madness! Trader Vic’s has a definite Tiki Mug following. Discover what it is about the mugs and meet the Mug Makers. Join the crew on Saturday, February 24 at 6pm for a spirited discussion and a sneak preview of the movie Cabali & the Mug Obsession with Director Josh Dragotta. If you are a collector of tiki mugs, you will want to be there for the two new Trader Vic’s mug releases.

Did you know?

Following his history-making creation of The Original Mai Tai® in 1944, Trader Vic created over 200 signature cocktails. Best described as Paradise In A Glass®, each handcrafted cocktail is an experience all its own.
