It’s Back! Chilling on San Francisco Bay With Your Favorite Beer

Faction Brewing’s large outside patio with fantastic views of the San Francisco skyline and Bay Bridge is open for onsite consumption Saturdays and Sundays from 12-6pm. Enjoy tasty meals with a pint and recall all the fun times you have had gathered there with your friends  in the past. You can check their food truck calendar on the website, with Sip & Slide and Fist of Flour currently fulfilling your culinary cravings. (You must order a meal if  you want to to drink onsite.) In this ‘new normal’, in order to stop the spread of Covid 19 and safeguard staff and visitors, Faction developed a set of safety guidlelines you can find here. https://www.factionbrewing.com/visit#covid-rules

Sit back and chill on the San Francisco Bay! Whales & Friends invites you to enjoy free gift wrapping  and an eclectic mix of jewelry, educational toys, and books. You can enhance your home and lifestyle with fun, nature-oriented, and beautiful items from their collections. “We are so happy to see our customers again,” says co-founder Christine Gonsalves, “and they are so happy to see us and be out.” Their South Shore Center store is open Tuesday – Sunday 12noon – 7pm.

“We have hundreds of great jigsaw puzzles and new sterling silver with Swarovski Crystals jewelry. Sometimes we need a little sparkle!” continues Christine. This painting by the Russian artist Olga Suvarova has lush colors and beautiful details. It has been one of their favorite jigsaw puzzles for celebrating the Arts. There’s a vintage line for fun and learning a few things about bones, rocks and our National Parks. Whales & Friends has lots of puzzles on their FB page and you can order for curbside pickup at the door to their South Shore store from 12-7pm. If you want to browse the store, you will find whales and their friends in a beautiful airy atmosphere full of color and interest. There is so much square footage at the store, it is easy for customers to go in and stay over 6’ apart. Everyone in masks and sanitizer at the door.  Also, free delivery in Alameda. 510-296-7229

About Alameda Point Collaborative , beneficiary of the event
The Alameda Point Collaborative‘s mission is working to end homelessness by providing housing and services to create communities where formerly homeless families and individuals can flourish. In 1999, APC transformed vacant military housing on the former Alameda Naval Air Station into a supportive housing community. APC now provides over 500 formerly homeless residents with the safety and stability of a place to call home. APC has also created social enterprise businesses including Farm2Market and Ploughshares Nursery.

Ride Your Bike!

There’s no reason to worry about where to park your car. Take advantage of Alameda’s new bike lanes along Shoreline Drive by riding your bike to the JAM. Free, secure parking will be provided in the fenced in parking lot near Otaez Mexican Restaurant at Webster Street and Pacific Avenue.
