“Come to Faction Brewing’s tasting room, located on the old Alameda Naval Base, and stay for the sweeping views of the SF skyline and Bay Bridge,” proclaim the owners and staff at Faction Brewing, which opened their doors to the public in December of 2013 in an old 25,000 sq. ft. airplane hangar. Their 20-barrel brewhouse has expanded quite a bit since then with a production of 4,500 barrels in 2015. Building upon that success, the tasting room expanded from a 6-tap kegerator and a few seats to a 20-tap direct draw system, a 30 ft. redwood bar and ample seating indoors and on the patio. (They have both outdoor and indoor seating up to 200 people.)
With 20 + beers, they offer a a wide variety of pales, IPAs, Belgians, porters and stouts – in pints, tulips and tasters. When ready, barrel-aged beers make their debut. Locals seem to like their A-Town Pale, only available on the island of Alameda. They even offer 32 oz. and 64 oz. growlers to-go!
Located at 2501 Monarch St. at Alameda Point, their tasting Room Hours are Wed. – Sat., 12noon to 8pm and Sun., 12noon to 6pm.
- Thurs. – Scolari’s
- Fri. – Sun. – interchangeable food trucks – Grilled Cheez Guy, Fist of Flour Pizza, Doc’s Burgers and more.
- At the bar they also have Oaktown Jerk, smoked almonds and 4505 chicharones on hand.
