About San Leandro Tech Campus

SLTC is the result of more than 10 years of planning to provide the City of San Leandro and the surrounding community with a transit-oriented, state-of-the-art, technology-focused, Class-A business campus that will create jobs and accelerate the city’s growth. OSIsoft—one of the East Bay’s largest private technology companies—now occupies the first building as its world headquarters. Developer Westlake Urban is extremely proud to be part of San Leandro’s transformation from a 20th century manufacturing community  to a 21st century center of technology and innovation

About Truth is Beauty

Truth is Beauty is the heart and soul of SLTC. The stunning sculpture is already stimulating a vital conversation posed by her question: “What would the world be like if women were safe?”Read more.

“I believe the world is out of balance and that we need to listen to women’s voices and understand their intent.  They do not speak up as often as men.  I believe that one of the reasons for this is the systemic violence against women that has been present throughout history.  I think it’s time to take the next step in evolution, to actively create a safe environment for women and to take responsibility for our society. – Truth is Beauty’s creator Marco Cochrane

About Cordial Bottle Shop

It’s a  warm and inviting place to shop for thoughtful selections of craft beer, small case production wine and specialty spirits. The owners work tirelessly to offer items you won’t find everywhere else. Their shop is small and exudes community spirit. They represent the neighborhood the way it is –  craft beer and IPAs, as well as Bud Light in the 24 oz cans.  Oftentimes, you will find neighbors gathered in the store sharing their wine preferences or just talking about dogs. On Sat., Mar. 25 from 4-7pm Cordial Bottle Shop will host an Ale Industries Beer Tasting to finish off the March tasting events.

Best Appetizer in San Leandro

If you haven’t tried it, you’ve been missing out. Paradiso restaurant in San Leandro used to have the Crab and Guacamole Salad as a special, but now it is on the main menu permanently. The Dungeness crab is beautifully layered with guacamole and topped with baby greens. Wedges of fresh mango and grapefruit complement the tangy salad.

“What a pleasant surprise,” says diner Christine Gonsalves, “to find a salad with fresh crab, guacamole, citrus and mango. Where am I? Baja, Mexico? No, I’m in San Leandro – the fine dining at Paradiso restaurant!”

If you do not cherish fresh Dungeness crab, there are lots of other choices  – excellent pizzas made in their wood-fired oven or the linguini with fresh clams in a wine, lemon and butter sauce. And there is something about their wood roasted chicken, simply cooked with butter and herbs, that makes it seem to melt in your mouth.

Back to appetizers, other big hits are the Kobe Beef Sliders with caramelized onions, Calamari Fritti, Filet Mignonettes seared in wine with fresh mushrooms served on crostinis and Portabello Tempura served with Chipotle aioli sauce. Paradiso also has a great wine cellar and ever-evolving cocktail menu.

Learn what other diners think about Paradiso’s on KQED’s Check Please!

Paradiso Restaurant is located at 685 Bancroft Avenue (at Oakes Blvd) in San Leandro –  (510) 430-9310. And parking is easy. There’s even a free lot.
