The Experience, Richmond: COBIZ Delivers

The Experience:

Artists inspire a creative culture!

‘Collective We’ opens today, May 29th through October 23rd. It’s a powerful and intimate showcase of contemporary figurative art by two international voices from across the globe: Kateryna Bortsova (Ukraine) and Aran (Iran).

Through painting and photography, they share deeply personal reflections on identity, memory, and what it means to belong—no matter where you come from. At a time when connection and community matter more than ever, ‘The Collective We’ reminds us that even across continents, we carry shared emotional truths. Opens on May 29th– book your visit in advance! https://www.eventbrite.com/…/duo-exhibition-collective…

RevArt and CoBiz Richmond are thrilled about their partnership which was designed to empower local artists and inspire the Richmond community. By merging RevArt’s focus on supporting artists with CoBiz’s mission to uplift under-invested communities, this collaboration will create meaningful opportunities for artists to thrive as entrepreneurs while enriching Richmond’s cultural landscape.

The Artists:

Kateryna Bortsova is a classically trained painter and graphic artist whose dreamlike figures are often partially veiled by balloons and blooms. Her work explores the beauty and ambiguity of self-representation, merging classical technique with philosophical depth.

Aran (Nima Raadparsa) is a self-taught Iranian photographer whose emotionally charged, socially conscious portraits form a quiet yet powerful chorus. Formerly a photojournalist, his art now focuses on identity, race, and community.

In partnership with RevArt, COBIZ Richmond is thrilled to announce their exhibition,

There are  powerful ongoing exhibits in three locations in Richmond and outside of buildings you’ll discover Taking it Outdoors, a concept created by Kenoli Oleari and Sharon Good.  50 banners showcase art all over downtown Pt Richmond, supporting the premise that art should be indoors and outdoors, basically everywhere in our lives.  (DJ Leland Sailing on the Bay photograph -right)

Dee Bell fills Pt Richmond Post Office with Beauty + Color!

An Exhibition of oil paintings by Dee Bell is showing at the Post Office at 104 Washington Ave in Point Richmond through April 5, 2021. Her art is inspired by the organic shapes, patterns and colors of nature. Dee lives in Point Richmond and loves painting local scenes. Many of her paintings also reflect the spirit years she lived in Hawaii.

“The joy and freedom of painting is a true gift, says artist Dee Bell.” I am an architect and artist working in many media including sculpture, glass fusing, and mosaics. Yet in oil painting I’ve found my deepest and everlasting passion. I am inspired by the colors and beauty of nature. Many of my paintings reflect the spirit of the years I spent in Hawaii. I live in the Point and love painting our beautiful Bay Area where I’ve lived since 1996.“

This exhibition and more are produced by the Arts of Point Richmond.

Happening Today: East Brother Beer Co.’s Virtual Taproom on Community Policing

Join East Brother Beer Co.  this evening, June 18, at 5:30pm for their first Pride and Purpose Virtual Taproom on Community Policing.

They’re giving their platform to community activist Dewanda Joseph, Founder of Ya-NEEMA Healing Circle and Supportive Services, and advocate for victims of gun violence.

“In Richmond, we’re fortunate enough to have civic and nonprofit leaders who have been championing social justice for decades,” comments Rob Lightner, East Brother Beer Co. co-founder. “Over the last few days, we’ve been actively listening and learning from them. But change doesn’t come from only listening; it comes from actions.”

To enter the Virtual Taproom: You can enter via Zoom:bit.ly/pandpcommunityforum   or watch their live stream on their Facebook Pagehttps://www.facebook.com/eastbrotherbeer/. Dewanda will bring together civic and community leaders to discuss police and community relations in the City of Richmond, what we can all be doing to protect people of color and how our city is moving forward.
