So, what is it about the 2017 Maestoso Mourvêdre that makes it such a find? In music, Maestoso means to perform in a stately, dignified manner. This wine is all of that and more.

Made from 95% Mourvêdre, 2% Petite Sirah and 3% Zinfandel from Lovett Vineyard in Lake County, Maestoso has the structure and rich fruit that lives up to its name. The fruit is red-berry driven suggesting Montmorency cherries and ripe strawberries and luscious stone fruits. There is a hint of earthiness and then a dark, rich fruit profile emerges, mixed with exotic spice and herbal notes: a complex and regal wine indeed.

Riggers Loft is home to owners R&B Cellars, with guest wineries: Carica Wines, Wachira Wines, Barrel + Ink, Prima Materia, and Far West Cider Company. This weekend, August 13th, 14th and 15th, Burlington Northern is doing emergency track repair on Canal Blvd. at the intersection of Cutting Blvd. Detour signs will be in place that will allow you to get to Riggers Loft via downtown Point Richmond and the Dornan Tunnel. Enjoy your rambling along the shoreline with those breathtaking views!
