Animate your Sunday Night with an Ekphrastic Poetry Reading & Jazz Improv!

  • 7pm, Sunday, October 24, 2021
  • Bay Street Emeryville, 5690 Bay Street in Emeryville

Join Sarah Kobrinsky, Emeryville Poet Laureate, as she hosts a live Poetry Reading and Jazz Improv event celebrating the 35th Annual Emeryville Art Exhibition. The event will feature musicians Ryan Pate and Dillon Vado and poets from an Ekphrastic Poetry Workshop, reading their poems. Ekphrastic poems focus on works of art by interpreting, inhabiting, confronting, and speaking to their subjects. The ekphrastic poems at this reading will focus on any of the 200+ works of art in the 35th Annual Emeryville Art Exhibition.

The 35th Annual Emeryville Art Exhibition is a large juried show featuring over 200 pieces of artwork created by 87 Emeryville artists. The exhibition is open to artists of all media and includes paintings, sculpture, photographs, prints, ceramics, and textiles. The exhibition is open October 2 – 31, 2021, from 11am to 6 pm, Thursdays through Sundays at Bay Street Emeryville, 5690 Bay Street, Emeryville, CA. Admission to the Poetry Reading & Jazz Improv event and exhibition is free.
