Just as the America’s Cup events are globetrotting, this year’s Summer Sailstice event links the sailing world together to celebrate sailing all over the globe on the same day. Join us for the San Francisco 2016 Summer Sailstice celebration in Alameda at Encinal Yacht Club on June 18, 11am.
If you are a seasoned sailor or curious about learning to sail, this is the place to be. Small sailboat racing, sailboat rides, boat building contest, life jacket plunge, BBQ, Adult Social Beverages – featuring Goslings famous Dark ‘N Stormys, National Historic Landmark scow schooner ‘Alma’ tours and lots more, including entertainment all day culminating into the night of the full moon summer solstice. The last group to play is Wicked Lobstah – Alameda’s own three-piece acoustic rock cover band. You’ll hear The Eagles to Pink Floyd to Black Sabbath and everything in between.
Plus, during the day you can take a photo with the actual America’s Cup. The America’s Cup will be on display with a presentation by America’s Cup spokesperson Tucker Thompson.
There will be plenty of places to tie up along the waterfront. Contact Encinal Yacht Club for more information:
