Thursday February 15th: Sirwisa Am-Pro – Hops For Housing 2018, Family House, San Francisco, 6-9:30pm

At the Sirwisa Am-Pro event on the the 15th, which benefits nonprofit Family House, our own Paul MotoBrewer Liszewski teamed up with home-brewer, Evan Rusackas, to brew a batch of Zero IBU IPA – Thomas The Dank Engine. Paul will be at the event, so make sure to have a pour and say hello.

Games:

Ping pong. Pool. Bocce. Cornhole. Electronic Darts. Pinball. Retro 80s Arcade Game. Board Games.

The Backroom in Berkeley

An unusual event comes to their stage, – a theatrical presentation by DJ Hamouris, with music and monologues from her personal experience of breast cancer diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.

Jazz guitarist Mimi Fox, a sister-survivor, joins in collaborating on these songs, and both Dan Feiszli (bass) and Michelle Goerlitz (percussion), who performed on the CD, are joining in this celebration of the recording.

Tickets  (see events page for pricing) are available in advance or at the door the night of the show. Doors open one half hour before show time. They accept cash only at the door (ATMs are nearby).

 The Back Room is an all-ages, BYOB (for those 21+) space, dedicated to (mostly) acoustic music of all kinds. You are welcome to bring your own adult beverage. Located at 1984 Bonita Ave. in Berkeley. 510-654-3808.

Show your true colors this Valentine’s Day Weekend.This is a Just Paddle event. Participants must have taken our SUP Intro class of have prior paddling experience. Tailgate Party Following the paddle! The event is $25.00 for experienced paddlers if they sign up before February 1. The price then goes up to $30.00.The cost of our 510-SUP Intro class is $75.00. We are offering Intro classes prior to the Mermaid/Merman paddle on Jan. 26, 27, 31 and Feb. 3, 7.

Bay Street celebrates Black History Month with A Historic Journey of Dance, a live dance event on February 10, from 2 PM to 4 PM. Free to attend, this special journey will showcase both African and African American dances performed by local East Bay dancers including fan favorite Unique Derique. From the distant past to the urban contemporary, these performances will cover a range of dance styles from different eras.
