Fish Emeryville Reports King Salmon, California Halibut and Striped Bass Galore!

Bay Area fishermen must be happy these days bringing home their prize catches! Here are some recent fish counts from Fish Emeryville in the Emeryville Marina.

Friday, 7/10/20, 43 anglers  went out in three boats. The catch? 52 King Salmon (up to 20 lbs), 19 California Halibut (up to 23 lbs), 140 Rockfish, and 30 Striped Bass. On Sunday, 7/12/20, 37 anglers in three boats caught 71 California Halibut, 16 King Salmon (up to 22 lbs), and  1 Lingcod. Monday, 7/13/20, 34 anglers went out in four boats to catch 18 California Halibut (up to 18 lbs) and 30 King Salmon (up to 18 lbs). Maybe it’s time to get out on the water and just go fishing!

Fish Emeryville’s Captains put anglers on King Salmon, California Halibut, Striped Bass, Rockfish, Lingcod, and Dungeness Crab (seasonal), utilizing the most effective methods for locating and catching fish, which ensures a safe and rewarding adventure. According to Captain Allen Chin’s TigerFish report on July 10th, “The salmon were on the chomp again for 16 early limits up to 20 pounds!”

Fish Emeryville Sportfishing Center carries a full complement of saltwater tackle, including many items designed by their Captains specifically for the local fisheries. They offer custom tackle kits tailored to your trip to maximize your catch. The Bait Shop has snacks, drinks, clothing, raingear, boots etc. as well as quality rent rods/reels designed for  local fishing.

Dee Spot Café, dubbed one of the best places for Bagels in the Bay Area by the SF Chronicle, is a community gathering place where Asian Fusion meets American Comfort Food and the espresso drinks are hard to beat in taste and presentation.

During this time Dee Cafe also offers essential grocery items and supplies. While ordering from their menu to go, you can also order from this list of goods for pickup: masks, sanitizer, toilet paper, yeast, flour, eggs, rubbing alcohol –  limit 2/customer. Dee Spot is always involved in its  community. According to owner Chan Vanthin,  “Working in collaboration with the Emeryville Economic Development Department, we were able to  donate a large amount of goods such as toilet paper, wet wipes, disinfectants and canned goods to the Assisted Living Program of COVID-19 here in Emeryville.” And during the month of May, they gave away free caffeine to anyone who worked in relationship to hospitals and/or was fighting and trying to save lives
