If you’re out there enjoying Alameda’s finest during Alameda Restaurant Week, don’t forget to raise a glass to the ultimate hometown hero: A-Town Pale.

Step into the warmth of the Old World in a beautifully restored building that says ‘Alameda’. This unique wine bar & café named in honor of the owner Dianah Rodriguez’s father, welcomes you in a beautifully restored building. Join them for Happy Hour weekdays from 3-6pm. Unwind from your day with a craft beer, a newly discovered local or Old World wine or one of their many fabulous cocktails. Special pricing during Happy Hour for snacks or order from the main menu.

The Alameda Rock & Roll Flea Market returns to Faction Brewing on Sunday, March 2nd, 11am-6pm with an all-surf line-up, vendors, craft beer and fantastic food!

SHOP. Peruse 75 vendors selling records, music memorabilia, instruments, vintage clothing, tiki/Hawaiiana, handmade jewelry, books, and more.

LISTEN. Get the vibe as you experience the ‘surftastic’ sounds of bands Par Avion (LA), The Starhoppers (Ferndale), Frankie and the Pool Boys, The Crab Shack Shakers (Johnny Bartlett & members of Ogres), and The NovaRays.

EAT. Tasty bites available from Satay By The Bay SF, Crazy Block Cheesecakes, Aburaya Japanese Fried Chicken and Sweet Pipers, Distinctive Homemade Delights.

The Experience:

Pints + Bread-making!

Beer and bread – name a more iconic duo. On March 20, 7:30-8pm, Faction Brewing is teaming up with Grainbakers for a spent grain bread-making class right there in their taproom.

At the end of the brewer’s day, you will use the brewery’s fresh, spent grain and work it into a beautiful artisan bread dough. You can customize your bread by adding various flavors from their spice selection, including:

  • UBE Purple Sweet Potato
  • Cinnamon Raisin
  • Rosemary & Sea Salt

Delve into the science behind brewing and explore sustainability in the craft beer industry. You’ll learn about brewer’s spent grain, why it’s considered a superfood, and how to incorporate it into bread.

It will be fun to sip, mix, knead, and craft your own delicious loaf to take home to bake.
