The Experience, Richmond: East Brother Beer Co. New Release

The Experience:

Warm up with a Baltic Porter!

It’s always around this time of year when East Brother releases its Baltic Porter to help you ward off the chill of winter. Their classic Baltic Porter has rich and layered malt characteristics; Halcyon, a floor-malted malt, comprises the basis of the malt bill while Crystal, Chocolate and Black malts add flavor and complexity. It’s made with German Lager yeast, offering up rich flavors of plums, cherries and molasses. In keeping with East Brother’s Beer Co.’s classic approach, this Baltic Porter at 8.6% ABV is a smooth, clean-finishing beer that beckons you for more.

Baltic Porter, called an English Porter during its origins, got its humble beginnings in the ports of England where it was favored by the dock workers that loaded and unloaded ships. Stop by East Brother’s taproom and ask about the interesting history of this beer!

Availability: Local retailers, curbside pickup & CA shipping, and served fresh at East Brother Beer Co.’s taproom.

The Experience, Richmond: East Brother Beer Co. Fall Beer

The Experience:

Bring On Oktoberfest in September!

Oktoberfest is on hold again this year, but you can dust off your lederhosen, grab your stein and help get the party started with East Brother Beer Co.’s early release of their Festbier!

First pioneered by Paulaner in the early twentieth century, Festbier quickly became the beer of choice for brewers participating in Munich’s annual Oktoberfest. Festbier was such a hit with festival-goers and brewers alike that by the 1990s it had replaced Marzen as the official Oktoberfest beer, and it still is to this day.

East Brother Beer is committed to brewing classic styles with precision, and Festbier is no exception.

In order to make this style shine, they turned to their friends at Admiral Maltings, whose world-class malts, paired with East Brother’s refined brewing skills, afforded the first iteration of their Festbier the “World Class” title by The Beer Connoisseur Magazine. And it has only gotten better since then.

Festbier Tasting Notes

Festbier’s appearance is a deep golden color with a bright white head. The aroma is honey and sweet bready malt character, lightly floral with subtle stone fruit. The taste is light to medium body and easy drinking, with some earthy bitterness from the noble hops cleansing the palate.

Availability

East Brother’s Festbier will only be available while supply lasts. Grab a pint and commemorative glass at East Brother Beer’s taproom  or check out their Beer Finder to find it in your favorite bar or restaurant, and their iconic cans in your local grocery store or bottle shop. You can raise a glass with them at Bottlerock Sept 3-5. Huichica Oct 15-16, and at Outside Lands Oct 29-31.

They’d love to have you stop by the taproom to taste the Festbier and learn more about their medal winning classic style beers. Food trucks every day and kids and dogs are welcome. Hours: W -F 4-9pm; Sa 12-9pm; Su 12-8pm. (510)-230-4081
