Look What’s Cooking at the Townhouse!

Townhouse has been serving up classic American comfort food for 30 years in a rustic setting. Now under new ownership with a new chef and kitchen team, their menu features Italian inspired California dishes that are a new kind of comfort.

Duck Prosciutto (featured here) is only one of the beautiful presentations you will find at the Townhouse these days. Drop in for their Early Bird drinks. Their Small Bites Menu, served from 4-5pm, includes Chicken Liver Mousse, Spicy Grilled Jumbo Prawns, Focaccia, and more.

Fans rave about their Spaghetti Carbonara and their 9 oz black Angus Beef Grilled Flat Iron Steak on their Dinner Menu. Signature Cocktails and a great wine list complete your Townhouse culinary experience!

When you join the Townhouse Bottle Shop, you will enjoy carefully curated happy hour delights, and bottled cocktails.

When you join the Townhouse Wine Cellar, you will enjoy a monthly mix of hand-curated wines straight from Townhouse’s cellar, with an option of standard or premiere selections every month

The Townhouse, an established Emeryville institution since 1926,  is now open Wednesdays – Saturdays from 4 to 8pm.  They’re starting small with a pop-up style menu by Chef Maximilian DiMare of Wood Tavern. Think simple, Italian inspired dishes perfect for sharing.

With 2020 came a global pandemic and the end of an era – Townhouse had to close its doors and Chef and owner Ellen Hope Rosenberg has passed the torch onto a new restaurant group. You’ll be seeing some familiar faces and some new faces as well. Keeping in the tradition of comfort classics with an elevated style, the new kitchen crew has created a menu that’s fresh, local and an ode to their cherished history. The Experience: Outdoor Dining, Take-out & the Prime Rib is Back!

Come to the Townhouse and experience the simple classics served effortlessly since 1990. Chef Ellen Hope Rosenberg has passed this Emeryville favorite establishment onto  new ownership with a new kitchen team under Executive  Chef Jake Kwan-Rosebush. Their menu has riffs of old favorites. Some menu highlights are P.E.I. Mussels & Chorizo, the Townhouse Burger (7 oz angus patty) with bacon, caramelized onions and aged cheddar, a Fried Chicken Sandwich with slaw on a soft Acme bun, and a Pan Seared Loch Duart Salmon. And don’t worry – you can still order sides of garlic fries or sweet potato fries! Specialty cocktails and a curated wine list await you.

They are doing everything they can to keep everyone safe by following the Alameda County guidelines and ask that their guests do the same.  Please wear your mask at all times unless physically eating or drinking. They are thrilled to have you back! You can order online, call for a reservation, or just come by.
