About The Periodic Table

The Periodic Table is a taproom and sake bar, located inside Emeryville Public Market . A spinoff concept from the team behind Shiba Ramen, The Periodic Table features ten rotating beer taps, pouring the best craft beer from the Bay Area and Japan. They offer an extensive selection of sake, shochu, and distilled spirits from Japan and a small bar menu, including burgers, cheese and charcuterie plates, and items from Shiba Ramen. The 18-seat bar is an intimate space inside Public Market, featuring modern design inspired by Japanese geometric patterns and chemistry.

The Periodic Table is the latest concept from Jake Freed and Hiroko Nakamura, a husband-and-wife team of chemistry Ph.D.s who met in a Harvard lab working on the synthesis of a complex organic molecule. They are passionate about good drinking, Japanese culture, design, and science, and The Periodic Table is a forum to share those passions with the East Bay community.

About Cultivar Beer

Siblings Jody Harris and Gingy Harris Gable produce beer, wine, olive oil and honey; plus, they run a retail shop and wine bar/taproom in San Francisco with farm to table cuisine & small bites. Cultivar Beer brews its own craft beers from the hops it grows. With the first hops harvested in 2017, its beers are fresh, flavorful and hoppy. Located on the Sacramento River, Cultivar’s 5 acre hop farm grows about 2,000 plants of six cultivars: Chinook, Cascade, Centennial, Columbus, Cluster and Willamette.

Like their many cultivars of hops for their beers, Cultivar produces Cabernet Sauvignon,  Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.
