The Experience, Richmond: East Brother Beer Co In the News

The Experience:

Brewmaster talks about Pre Pro Lager!

December might be well underway, but they’re already dreaming of Pre-Pro season – when they serve up their summertime Pre Pro Lagers. Hop Culture Magazine gave East Brother’s Pre Pro Lager much deserved love in their latest article. Pre-prohibition lagers are unique in that they capture that time in America before the alcohol shutdown of the days of Prohibition.

An Excerpt from Hop Culture’s story highlighting East Brother Beer Co.

“Pre-Pro lager is the foundation of the traditional American beer we’re drinking now,” says Paul Liszewski, brewmaster at East Brother Beer in Richmond, CA, who brews the brewery’s Pre-Prohibition Lager seasonally every summer. “This is the beer they were most likely brewing before Prohibition started at a time when there were a lot of German brewers leaving the Fatherland and bringing their process and techniques and lager yeast with them, trying to replicate what they brewed at home before they left.”

Congrats, East Brother, great story – we’re proud of you!
