Ellison Proposes Hawaii for the 2017 America’s Cup

Larry Ellison envisions the 2017 America’s Cup regattas taking place in AC45s around the globe in all countries that have a team and ending up in Hawaii for the Louis Vuitton Cup. The winner then will challenge the defending champion, Oracle Team USA, for the America’s Cup in the waters off of Honolulu in AC60s. However, Russell Coutts, CEO of Oracle Team USA, is still in talks with other venues including San Francisco and San Diego. Read more about Ellison’s vision.

We are still sailing at 2:15pm! USA takes Race 17.

Score is now New Zealand  – 8 and USA  – 7. With an unfortunate start for the Kiwis  – a small collision and a two-boat length penalty – TEAM USA had the lead around Mark 1 and kept it until the finish. Race 18 seems to be a go at 2:15pm. ETNZ still has their provisional card and can cancel the race today but did not. They are geared up to win Race 18 and the America’s Cup. Stay tuned.
