The Experience, Alameda: The Park Street Tavern Appetizers

The Experience:

Anchovies Anyone?

Fans say their favorite appetizer at Park St Tavern is the Lefkas Bruschetta! Ionian white anchovies, chopped capers and red onions served on grilled freshly made Bruschetta. Very Mediterranean.

Some of their dinner favorites: The Orzo and Salmon is served with baby spinach, mushrooms and roasted tomatoes in a vodka garlic sauce and the Homemade Gnocchi with Pesto is made with a pesto sauce with mushrooms and roasted cherry tomatoes. A big hit, the Lamb Paidakia is a Greek marinated and grilled lamb chop served with a hot Greek potato salad with roasted red potatoes, cauliflower, cherry tomatoes, kalamata olives, arugula and crispy polenta. For those with a bigger appetite, try the 14 oz Ribeye, which is served with mashed potatoes and bacon green beans.

You can always stop by the lounge, with the welcoming vibe of a neighborhood bar, for some small bites & your fav from the wine or cocktail list. Hours: Daily 4-9pm. Bar opens at 4pm. Dinner at 5pm. They look forward to seeing you! (510) 671-2867

The Experience, Alameda: Faction Brewing Co. Wednesdays

The Experience:

Pints + Paints!

There are lots of ways to experience Faction Brewing. Grab your friends for a run out on Alameda Point with lots of views and history and then kick back with your favorite Faction brew. You can bring your whole family, including the four-legged member, out for a fun evening with beer and food trucks. Or you can join local artists for pints + paints on Wednesdays with your sketchpad and watercolors. Whatever you do, stay for the sunset over San Francisco Bay!

Pints + Paints.

Marcy Voyevod, organizer of a weekly gathering of local artists at Faction Brewing Co. has been inviting artists to join her sketching on the patio. She explained, “I first started coming here on Fridays in 2015 when I worked close by and invited my colleagues. And I sketched.  It just felt like my community.” Check out her collection of Fridays at Faction!

Artists of all skill levels now come to Faction to sketch and paint, and, of course, enjoy the wonderful west coast style IPAs and the great views. Gathering around a table, each artist paints something different – a container ship on the estuary, succulents on the patio, city front views, or clusters of folks enjoying their pints.  Come and join them 4pm on Wednesdays.

Faction Brewing produces a wide range of beers in their 20-barrel brewhouse, including lagers, stouts, Belgian style beers, barrel aged beers, and the occasional sour. But their true specialty and passion lies in hoppy beers.

The Experience, Alameda: Almanac Beer Co. New Pale Ale

The Experience:

FLOW Pale Ale Release Party + Run + Plants + Music!

Grab your friends and join Almanac Saturday, July 9th from 11:15am – 9pm for a great day of fun and beer tasting. Here’s the lineup:

  • 11:15am Run with East Bay Beer Runners
  • 12-7pm Plant Cultura Pop-up*
  • 6-9pm Big Blu Soul Revue live concert

Almanac is expanding its year-round fresh beer portfolio with a new West Coast pale ale honoring a style that put California craft beer on the map. FLOW Pale Ale (5.5% ABV) fits right into the Almanac family of fresh beers available 12 months of the year along with fan-favorites LOVE Hazy IPA, LOUD! Hazy DIPA, and TRUE Kölsch. FLOW Pale Ale takes a classic West Coast style and brews it for the modern drinker who loves to kick back a cold one (or three!) after a day of kayaking, lazy river rafting, hitting the mountain biking trails or after a run with East Bay Beer Runners!

Dry-hopped with Simcoe and El Dorado, FLOW is full of character with a super light body. “Nothing hits the spot quite like a refreshing West Coast pale ale!” says founder and ceo Damian Fagan. “As the beer style that originally captured my heart, I decided it was time to create a worthy Almanac version. It took over a year of R&D before we nailed the final recipe, but we couldn’t be more excited about the result. FLOW is all about balance. It’s got a huge hop aroma and is bursting with notes of juicy lemon, ripe melon, and fresh berries and pine. The bitterness is restrained, the finish is clean, and the body is light and crisp. FLOW is a simple beer, and it’s just plain delicious.”

Almanac’s Barrel House, Taproom and Brewery are open 7 days a week: M-Th 12-9pm; F/Sa 12-10pm; Su  12-8pm.Food trucks daily.  (415) 992-3438

The Experience, Alameda: Dashe Cellars Zinfandel

The Experience:

Taste + Stock Up On Zinfandel!

Just in time for summer grilling, Dashe Cellars would like to introduce you to their newest vintage of “Les Enfants Terribles”: the 2018 Mendocino Cuvée Zinfandel, which they offered in a tasting at the Oakland Zoo’s Walk in the Wild fundraiser last weekend.

The fruit was sourced from the Signal Ridge Vineyard in the Mendocino Ridge AVA, the highest vineyard in the appellation. With the kind of bright acidity that is only found in high-altitude fruit, this wine is crisp and juicy with lots of red fruit, and a finish that goes on for days. Pop a bottle in the refrigerator for 15 minutes for a perfect temperature. Wine Enthusiast rates it with 91 points!

Pull a cork, light the grill, and enjoy a glass on its own or pair it with your favorite burger. They have an Anniversary Case Sale that expires next week! Stock up now on your Zinfandel for the weekend!

Dashe also offers “golden hour” specials on Thursdays and Fridays from 5 to 7 p.m. for prime sunset viewing.
