Best Coast Burritos, a local Bay Area small business owned and operated by Alvin Shen in Emeryville, launched an effort to rally support for first responders by sending burritos to feed emergency staffs in the East Bay. It’s a win-win situation. The whole community stepped up to help feed first responders and medical professionals fighting the Covid-19 disease (ER staff, paramedics, police, fire) and Best Coast Burritos is still able to serve up hundreds of burritos daily, thanks to all these generous donors.

“We have fed about a thousand meals since shelter-in-place has been initiated,” says Shen, “and will likely continue through the end of April.” He asks that if at all possible, to please donate in increments of $10. “By doing so, you’ll be sending a burrito to the front lines – feeding, encouraging and powering those laying it all on the line to flatten the curve and heal our nation.” Burritos have been sent to hospitals all around the East Bay and according to Shen, the staff have been so appreciative and moved to tears from all of the support.
