Spend your Monday nights with hella great $1.50 oyster deals, champagne specials, craft cocktails, an award-winning dinner menu (w/ tons of vegan options) and a special Monday Night HellaFunny comedy show!

This showtakes place in a hidden speakeasy bar in the back of Copper Spoon in Oakland turned into a pop-up comedy club with comfy couches, a brick fireplace, funky furnishings and lots of plants.

$1.50 Oyster Night + Comedy Show

It’s a 70+ minute show with 4-5 comics on the bill with credits like Cobbs, Punchline, SF Sketchfest, ABC and NBC.

Please note the event is indoors, but fully ventilated with a new HVAC system.
Limited to 26 people per show (to maintain social distancing, there is a two ticket minimum per order)

Drinks Menu has lots of fun and creative cocktails with rum, mezcal, tequila, vodka and whiskey. Plus beer and wine and hibiscus and passion fruit mocktails.

The Freight celebrates the 10th year of the Berkeley Bluegrass Festival, May 2 & 3, 2026. With concerts co-curated by Grammy-award winner Laurie Lewis and Leah Wollenberg, plus curated instructional workshops, Berkeley Bluegrass Festival brings together leaders of the genre, up-and-coming artists, and music fans for three days of concerts, jams, workshops , and good old-fashioned merriment to kick off the summer music festival season.

11th Annual Autumn Lights Festival

The Autumn Lights Festival is a fundraiser for the Gardens at Lake Merritt. The Gardens at Lake Merritt were established more than a half century ago. They are a collection of themed gardens requiring varying levels of upkeep. Volunteers provide much needed maintenance assistance as the City of Oakland’s gardening staff has been dramatically reduced over time. The gardens are a tranquil oasis in the heart of Oakland and provide enriching public programs.

The Autumn Lights Festival is presented by the Friends of the Gardens at Lake Merritt (FGLM). By supporting the diverse plant collection, habitats, demonstration gardens and landscapes of the gardens, FGLM works to augment the Gardens as a learning resource and a serene location for the public to connect with and enjoy the beauties of nature.

We invite you to celebrate our 11th Annual festival in-person over three spectacular nights October 13-15, 2022. Prepare to be dazzled, mesmerized and amazed at this magical benefit for the non-profit Friends of the Gardens at Lake Merritt where you will experience 60+ locally-produced illuminated art displays sparkling and beaming throughout Oakland’s beloved eight-acre municipal gardens.

The excitement begins with a family fun carnival, which features a variety of activities for all ages including carnival games, face painting, a special appearance from Santa and his elves, Frozen the Musical themed photo opportunities, and a light show spectacular!
