As Art + Soul celebrates its 17th birthday, Oakland will present its rich musical heritage, culinary cultural diversity and bluesy spirit. This  fun, friendly community festival showcases famed musicians, art mural paintings, a Fun Zone for kids, food, beer, wine and arts and crafts. The festival continues its annual tradition of hosting a live Gospel Showcase presented by Edwin Hawkins and Community of Unity.

The Artisan Marketplace is full of hand made creations – jewelry, paintings, clothing, art magnets, stationery, clocks and more. Local nonprofits will also have booths, giving you the opportunity to ask questions about their organizations and causes.

New this year – a community mural painting with Oakland Art Murmur. Join local artists in creating a magical piece displayed at the festival and beyond. Watch live painting by the pros, Dragon School on Sat.and Girl Mobb’s Graffiti Camp for Girls on Sun. Pick up a brush and add a bit of yourself to the mural!

And don’t miss Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Angie Stone on the Art + Soul Main Stage on Sun., 4:30-5:45pm!

Art + Soul is conveniently located in downtown Oakland adjacent to the 12th Street/City Center BART station.
